Coming to terms and dealing with sexuality in the farming community can often be daunting and a subject not talked about enough. This section will help with contacts and support within this community.


Agerespect is an online resource to support diversity in the countryside and encourage inclusiveness, spreading awareness that being open about sexuality is something to be proud of rather than a preventative barrier to carrying out normal life in the farming community. The Gay Farmer

The Gay Farmer is a 24 hour support helpline run to help those who want talk to someone who understands what it’s like to be gay in the farming community.

  • An online documentary has been formed in relation to the Gay Farmer helpline, conducted to spread experiences and stories of those who are rarely heard in the farming community

LGBTQ bereavement support

  • If you have lost someone as a result of suicide and was lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning then support can be accessed through the Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide website here.
